Flash Fiction

CRACK! “OW! W-w-what happened? Where am I?

Why is it so dark?” I got up from my knees. I had no

idea where or what I was doing here. I could not

even recall my name. I noticed that I was in a long,

dark hallway. It looked like there was no one there

to help. I wanted to be at least accompanied by

another person, so I started walking down the

hallway when I noticed a gray stone pressure plate

on the ground. I realized this could be a trap, so I

grabbed one of my black Nike shoes and threw it

on the pressure plate. A big, steel object dropped

on the pressure plate, crushing it hard. Woah. I

would have been squashed flat if I had not seen the

pressure plate. But sadly, I lost one of my favorite

shoes.

I started to think a little more. Why was I doing

this? Risking my favorite shoe? I looked around me.

And when I looked back, I saw something I didn’t

know existed. It was a monster. It had a

purplish-black body and claws. It started moving

toward me, so I sprinted forward after sliding past

the anvil. I moved until I saw a hole. The beast was

about to catch up, and I slipped into the hole. While

falling, I stared at the claw-like spikes reaching out

of the ground waiting to impale me! I screamed in

fear, “NOOOOOO!”
